am a Cape Town-based architect with a Bachelor of Architectural Studies (1989) and a Bachelor of Architecture (1992) from the University of Cape Town. I have been practicing independently for approximately twenty years after initially gaining experience in large architectural firms. In this time I have taken on a wide range of projects, from small additions to large warehouse renovations, that have challenged me to grow immensely both as a designer and coordinator. Through my work I have learned that being a good architect is not just about creating well-thought out designs that pair client needs with essential design elements, but being able to work closely with engineers, builders, sub-contractors and other parties involved in bringing the actual idea into reality. The skills and knowledge I have developed in this arena give me great understanding of what it takes to ensure that projects maintain the integrity of their original designs. In addition to these skills, over the years I have developed great working relationships with reliable and high quality building professionals. Working with me, you will not only get a solid design, but a person who understands that bringing it into reality takes good relationships, clear communications, patience, and the desire to have fun.
